With her wealth of conventional and “alternative” medical knowledge and experience, she is able to assist the whole person where there are pre existing chronic medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, pre and post surgery or where a medical practitioner requests a patient to “change their lifestyle” etc.
She has great compassion, patience and empathy when it comes to understanding the effort needed to live a truly holistic healthy lifestyle.
Having lived with a weight issue all of her life, often being ridiculed, as well as having a family history of cardiac disease, hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol, and numerous attempts with many diet clubs, she began to realize that a healthy lifestyle was much more than just calorie control. Her weight issue was found to be associated with major food allergies and intolerances. That was when her interest in nutrition and holistic wellness principles to a healthier lifestyle developed.
Marian’s healthy lifestyle holistic wellness principles include:
- the treatment of the whole person and not just the symptoms
- the relief from pain and disease, sometimes caused by an allergy or intolerance to food
- addressing the cause not the symptom with good nutrition
- an active process of becoming aware of, and making choices towards, a more successful existence
- having an understanding of how to handle the positive and negative situations and events that affecting your wellbeing
- movement of muscles that is fun, enjoyable and becomes second nature
- the constant and conscious pursuit of living life to its fullest potential
Marian enjoys sharing her wealth of knowledge with others by writing articles on her website and for local magazines and newspapers. She compiled the School Healthy Choice Survey on the East Rand that was published in the Media [2009] and is a frequent Guest Speaker of motivational and nutritional talks to Corporations, Societies and Clubs.
